Frederick Manson White (1863 – 1952)[1] was an American architect based in Portland, Oregon. He was the nephew of architect Stanford White,[2] although some sources dispute this.[3] Known for his work in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, among the buildings he designed or helped design, as part of the firm McCaw, Martin and White, are the National Register of Historic Places-listed Imperial Hotel (now the Hotel Vintage Plaza), Waldschmidt Hall at the University of Portland, the Dekum Building, the Auditorium and Music Hall, the Sherlock Building, the Flatiron Building (now Ringler's Annex), Woodrow Wilson Junior High School in Eugene (now Lincoln School Condominiums), First Presbyterian Church of Portland, the First Presbyterian Church in Medford (part of the South Oakdale Historic District), and the Corvallis Hotel in Corvallis.[3][4][5] White also designed Agate Hall (originally Roosevelt Junior High School and later Condon School) on the campus of the University of Oregon.[1]
